We strongly recommended that you make two or even three choices for your preferred Groups as this gives a better chance for your young person to be offered a place in Scouting. If you only provide us with one choice, this could limit the chance of your young person getting a place.
On receipt of your application, we will contact you by your preferred contact method and advise you of your Unique Reference Number (URN). This URN must be quoted when contacting the Waiting List Secretary for any enquiries or application updates.
IMPORTANT / PLEASE NOTE: We cannot give you any indication as to when your young person will get a space in one of the Groups of your choice.
The Waiting List Secretary can be contacted on 07516 046815 between the hours of 6.00pm- 9.00pm weekdays only. If there is no one available to take your call, please leave a message and we will endeavour to reply to all calls within 5 working days.
Once a space becomes available in one of your chosen Groups, we will attempt to contact you by your preferred contact method up to three times. If we receive no response/reply then your young person’s details will be removed from our Waiting List.
With this in mind, it is vital that you inform us of any change to any of the information supplied as failure to do so, may result in your young person being removed from our list.
Once a young person has been offered and accepts a place in a Section/Group, they cannot automatically transfer to another Section/Group afterwards.
Once your young person has been accepted in a Section/Group, they will automatically be given a place in the next Section (provided they stay) once they reach the correct age.
If, due to the size of our Waiting List, we are not able to offer your son/daughter a place in one of your chosen Groups, their details will be transferred to the Waiting List for the next Section when they reach the age to join that Section (ie: Beavers to Cubs / Cubs to Scouts etc.).
