Welcome to Stockton, Thornaby & District Scouts

Fun, Challenge, Adventure and Skills for Life, this is what Scouting is all about.

In Stockton, Thornaby & District we support over 600 young people and over 200 adult volunteers to experience this adventure. We have nine Scout Groups, three Explorer Scout Units, a Scout Network and a Scout Active Support Unit (known as Stockton, Thornaby & District Scout Communications Team) all across Stockton, Thornaby and in the surrounding areas. We are also lucky to have our own thriving campsite, Pybus Scout Campsite, which is available to be hired by Scouts, Guides and Duke of Edinburgh Award participants.

The adventure of Scouting is for both girls and boys aged 4-25 and those that are young at heart and want to share their skills to help provide life changing opportunities for our young people.

Each week we give our young people the chance to enjoy fun, challenge and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed now and into the future. Scouting builds leadership, teamwork, resilience, independence and problem solving skills all alongside all manner of practical skills.

‘Put down your phone and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
Bear Grylls, Chief Scout
